Sarah's Motorcycle Debut

Sarah has worked hard over the past few weeks to perfect riding her bicycle without training wheels.  Te purpose for the renewed effort is that she was told that once she can ride her bicycle without training wheels, she can ride a motorcycle all by herself.  That was enough incentive for her!  Here are a few pictures of her debut ride on a motorcycle.  She rode around and around our front field and NEVER tipped over once.  Our only concern was that she would slow down at the turns.  You could hear her giggling over the bike as she went.  She was truly born to ride.

Cheese Balls Anyone?

For Jacob's birthday he requested that we get the big tub of cheese balls from Sam's Club.  The thing about cheese balls is that they really last quite a long time when you buy them in that quantity.  They had been tucked safely back in the cupboard, waiting for a barbeque when Samantha spotted them.  The truth is they are hard to hid in the pantry when the container is so large.  Needless to say she had to have some.  She LOVES cheese balls!  She carried the tub around for a while and turned her face and hands a nice cheesy color before we were able to distract her with cookies so we could put them away - this time in a better, more concealed location.

A Visit to the Botanical Gardens

On a beautiful day a couple of weeks ago the children and I went to the Botanical Gardens in Huntsville.  The kids thought it would be boring, I thought it would be educational, turns out it was a lot of fun and they have all asked when we are going back.  I tried to get Samantha to stand in front of the "growing like a weed" wall, but she was too interested in the shovels and sand nearby...she is a very busy 2 year old.  Jacob is now 11, Kathryn is almost 8 (only 2 more weeks), Sarah is 6 and Emily is 4.

It's about time!

All I can say, is that it is about time that the Walker family joined the 21st century and started a blog - after all, we are enjoy reading so many of your blogs we couldn't help but think you would like to see what is going on with us these days.  So - here we go!
